You will never forget the first time an owner asked you back by name.

You will never forget the look on the facility manager's face when the shutdown went perfectly. Nobody outside the construction fence even knew it happened.

You will never forget the morning your team handled an emergency without calling you, and handled it right.

You will never forget the project where the relationship outlasted the punch list.

You will never forget the phone call. “Would you like to work together again?” that led to your next big contract.

Those moments don’t happen by accident. They’re built slowly and deliberately, one kept promise at a time.

I want that for you.

I want you to be the leader your team talks about ten years from now.

I want you to deliver the project and keep the relationships; with your client, with your team, and with the people at home who need you to walk through the door with something left to give.

That’s why I wrote Building People Who Build Hospitals.

That’s why I’m building the Academy, so the framework doesn’t stay on a page.

That’s why I created the CM’s Toolkit, so you have something in your hands on Monday morning.

That’s why everything at Building Construction People exists.

Everything I do is based on one principle:

The industry taught you how to build. I want to help you learn how to lead.

If that matters to you, we should work together.

About Mike

Michael Toftely spent 25 years in construction, most of it in healthcare, the most demanding environment in the industry. He’s worked as both a General Contractor and an Owner’s Representative, managing programs in excess of $1 billion across 17+ major healthcare facilities. He’s led teams at every level, navigated critical shutdowns where failure wasn’t an option, and built the kind of trust that turns a single phone call into a quarter-billion dollars in work. He founded Building Construction People Group to give construction professionals the framework he wished someone had handed him in his first decade. Mike lives in Texas with his wife Dina and their four kids. Everything he builds starts with three things: God, family, country.
